Notes & Tips section for your Teriyaki Chicken Fried Rice recipe:
- Use cold rice: Day-old or leftover rice works best because it’s firmer and less sticky, giving your fried rice the perfect texture.
- Protein swaps: You can replace chicken with shrimp, beef, or even tofu for a vegetarian option.
- Vegetable add-ins: Bell peppers, peas, broccoli, or corn make great additions and add color and nutrition.
- I’m in love Homemade teriyaki sauce: If you don’t have bottled sauce, make your own with soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), garlic, and ginger.
- High heat cooking: Stir-fry the chicken and vegetables on medium-high heat to get that slightly charred, smoky flavor. Storage & reheating: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet with a splash of soy sauce or water to keep it moist. Make it spicy: Add a drizzle of sriracha, chili flakes, or Japanese chili oil for a fiery kick.
